The digital photography is contrary to my way of working.
As long as I would have the choice, I would choose the argentic film. Philosophically, the light resulting from the captured scene comes to print the substance of the film. Next, the same light passing through the slide comes to print the paper. So, there is continuity, and it is these prints which represent for me the purest representation.
The digital technology introduces the intermediate phase of coding, and the world cannot be totally represented in my opinion by numbers.
Thus I use an argentic camera, a Nikon F3HP, with 5 camera lenses: 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and sometimes the 135mm. When I need to travel "light", I takes my Nikon FM2 or FE with a 35-70mm zoom. I sometimes use a polarizing filter.
The argentic films which I use are Fuji Provia 100F and Velvia 50.
I look for the purity. The image on the paper must be identical to what I have in camera, also I do not refocus and do not retouch photos. Colors are respected.
